Visual Comfort & Co. / Circa Lighting
A customer-facing digital experience that transformed complex architectural-lighting expertise into a clear, visual narrative—and gave the sales team a more compelling way to communicate the value of an integrated lighting plan.

The Opportunity
Architectural lighting has an extraordinary effect on how a space looks, feels, and functions, but its value can be difficult to communicate through technical specifications or individual product descriptions alone. Customers needed a more intuitive way to understand the benefits of a layered lighting plan, while the sales team needed a consistent story that could support and advance those conversations.
The opportunity was to turn Visual Comfort's expertise into a clear customer journey: establishing why lighting matters, showing how professional planning improves a space, and explaining the support available from initial consultation through installation.
My Role
I partnered closely with sales leadership to understand the questions, objections, and knowledge gaps that surfaced most often in customer conversations. Together, we identified the story the sales team needed the digital experience to tell.
I translated those insights into the page's strategic narrative and directed the development of the video and photography needed to make the benefits of architectural lighting visible. I then brought the messaging and assets together in a customer-facing landing page designed to function as an evergreen sales-enablement tool.
Strategic Approach
01
Lead with the transformative effect of lighting on a space rather than beginning with technical terminology or individual fixtures.
02
Use video and photography to demonstrate concepts that are difficult to communicate through copy alone, including layered light, fixture placement, atmosphere, and function.
03
Structure the page so sales teams could use it before, during, and after customer conversations—providing a consistent explanation of the service and a clear path toward consultation.
The Experience
The landing page guides customers through the Lighting Design Services offering in a deliberate sequence—from understanding the value of thoughtful lighting to experiencing it firsthand and receiving support through project completion.

01
Lighting is the one element that impacts every other aspect of design. Visual Comfort's lighting designers develop multilayered residential lighting plans built around each customer's vision, goals, space, and budget.

02
The narrative then moves from explanation to experience, inviting customers into an architectural lighting lab to see how layers of light illuminate a space and change the way a design is perceived.

03
The story completes by showing that the service extends well beyond specification, with delivery management and technical support that help customers carry the lighting plan through to successful completion.
Creative Direction
Because the value of architectural lighting is experiential, the visual assets had to do more than make the page beautiful. They needed to demonstrate how light changes architecture, establishes atmosphere, supports function, and brings the full design of a room into focus.
I directed the development of the video and photography around that objective, ensuring each asset helped customers understand the service while giving the sales team a persuasive visual aid for more complex conversations.
The Film

“Lighting is perhaps the single most transformative element in any environment. Its power to illuminate and animate—literally—shapes how we experience our surroundings.”
The Impact
The finished landing page gave Visual Comfort a centralized, customer-facing expression of its Lighting Design Services offering. It equipped sales teams with a consistent narrative, persuasive visual assets, and a clear destination they could use to educate customers and move conversations toward consultation.
By translating technical expertise into an accessible digital experience, the tool helped connect the emotional value of lighting with the practical process required to achieve it.
The page succeeded by treating architectural lighting not as a technical category to explain, but as a transformation customers needed to see and feel before they could fully value it.
